April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball player from America She is one of a small category of females who have won medals in many Olympics. The American will play in Tokyo in her third Olympics medal with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. However, more importantly Ross wants to secure her very first Olympic gold. It could be her final chance to take home the Olympic gold. The athlete is optimistic, however the top honours will be at hand. If we do our best or even properly, I'm sure we'll win the gold medal Ross spoke of via NBC Boston. In addition, I'm hoping to have the chance to have luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up in Costa Mesa California with her sister and parents, began taking part in athletics during her time at Newport Harbor High. When she was at Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many athletics. In her time as a college athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. In the last sport she was clearly the standout. Through her high school years, she was a middle blocker outside setting and hitter on the volleyball court as per her school bio. To honor her effort she was named an 1999 Gatorade The Circle of Champions' National Player of Year. In addition, she was awarded the 2000 Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. While Ross and Klineman are a couple since the year 2017, Klineman had been an experienced athlete on the beach prior to their team. She's won big events with different teams. A couple of those has become an icon of the world of volleyball. They teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Kessy's Klineman and coach. Kessy and Ross were an impressive force on the international circuit, winning their first world title in 2009. The duo won silver at London's Olympic Games. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team as well as Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's exit. The pair took bronze at the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Following high school, and for a few years before she hit the sand as a pro Ross was a ball for the Trojans at USC while an NCAA. Her time at the school was an impressive one. In 2000 she was awarded Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and NCAA Freshman of the Year and an All-American. She also helped her Trojans reach the Final Four. Her sophomore season was the year she suffered a devastating personal loss, yet was able to be named an All-American. The two years following her she led the Trojans on a climb and won consecutive national titles. She was a great volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the top female college volleyball player. Ross was an international relations major at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, didn't get the opportunity to witness Ross' daughter blossom into a beach volleyball superstar. Ross suffered the loss of her mom to cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. However, she continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration for her, both in and out on the beach.
